Florence began piano lessons with Mrs Quarmby three weeks ago. Today in her lesson, she learned to play Big Ben’s chimes and wanted to show you.

Year One loved learning about the Orchestra. Mr Robbins and his flute helped us learn about the Woodwind section.
Today the 36 children in our Junior (KS2) Choir sang at Ashdene, Ashfield Lodge and then Oakdene. The residents were lovely and the children sang beautifully.

In April 2016 our Orchestra were invited to watch the RAF College Band
After sending in an audition tape,The Alvey School choir were chosen to perform at the Skegness Proms which
show cases the best musicians in Lincolnshire. We sang a medley of songs from Toy Story and the choir performed absolutely brilliantly, of course!!!
We invited a drummer in to do a workshop with year 3. They had a fabulous time and learnt all sorts of drumming techniques! They're now all master drummers!!
The school orchestra goes from strength to strength, we now have 35 members who come to practise and play together on a Friday afer school. We even sound like an orchestra (sometimes!) We perform in our church services and sometimes in assemblies. If your child has been learninmg to play an instrument for at least a year and they are interested in joining please contact Sue Quarmby at school.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
