We think these are late 1940s early 50s Mk 9 'Stadium' goggles possibly worn by RAF Spitfire pilots. They are very similar to the ones Frank Blinkhorn (Head Teacher at the Alvey 1967) would have worn when he was shot down over the Channel in 1944 flying a Hurricane. Thanks to his skill as a pilot, he survived. Frank was awarded a DFC and lifelong membership of the Goldfish Club. He carried on flying Typhoons and Spitfires after the crash.
