Viking Trading

Today 3MP learnt about how the Vikings travelled around the world to trade. Mrs Purchase set up different countries around the room. The children were given three items that the Vikings would have taken from Scandinavia to trade. They were also given a ‘shopping list’ of two items that the Vikings would have bought from other countries. The children were told how the Vikings often used silver to trade and this would have been weighed in ounces. First, they had to sell their goods to earn some silver. Then they had to use their silver to buy the items on their ‘shopping list’. By the end of the lesson they could name different countries the Vikings travelled to for trade and the different items they would have traded
