WWII Blenheim Tragedy

John Ayto attended the William Alvey for a short while and unfortunately died in WWII. His parents were also tragically killed when a Blenheim bomber crashed into their cottage in Hough on the Hill in June 1942.The Pilot and Observer were killed in the crash but the Wireless Operator jumped from the stricken bomber at 750 feet, landing in a tree from where he was rescued suffering from shock and a sprained left ankle.
