William Alvey: A Church School

We are proud to be a church school and embrace all the responsibility and joy that brings. One of the best things about being a church school is the focus our vision gives to our work. Our vision sets out what we want to achieve and how we know if we have been successful. Please see the vision section of our website, which sets this out clearly.

We have close links with Father Phil, who is the vicar of our local church, St Denys. Father Phil is a governor at the Alvey and a regular visitor to our school, as we are to St Denys.

We are blessed to have a 'Bishop's Visitor', Mrs Risdell, who comes to the Alvey at least once a week.  Mrs Risdell has been a Bishop's Visitor since September 2013. She has helped in many ways, not least in reading the termly 'Bishop's letter' to our children at St Denys' church.

We have close links with the Lincolnshire Diocese and regularly work alongside them, as well as leaning on them when we need support.

One of the highlights of our school calendar is visiting St Denys for our Christmas, Easter and Alvey Services. The videos below give you a glimpse as to how special these occasions are and the opportunities our children have to read, sing and play instruments to a large audience.
